In June 1996, GRATALOUP was the subject of a solo exhibition entitled Nus sur Mer (Nudes by the Sea), presented at L’Hôtel, the legendary Left Bank establishment inseparably associated with Jean Marais, who had made it one of his favorite Parisian addresses. Located in the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, L’Hôtel occupies a unique place in the cultural history of Paris, having welcomed generations of artists, writers, actors, and intellectuals.

For GRATALOUP, the exhibition offered an intimate and unusual setting, far removed from the traditional museum or gallery environment.
