Painter and visual artist, GRATALOUP (1935–2022) developed a singular body of work over more than sixty years, ranging from painting to monumental works.
This website brings together and documents his work, his life and career, his exhibitions and major projects, and provides access to the catalogue raisonné currently in progress.
It also supports new projects devoted to GRATALOUP’s work, in France and internationally.
The voice used in this podcast comes from Grataloup’s archival recordings. Selected phrases have been reassembled to accompany the exhibition.
Musée GRATALOUP remains open until November 11, 2026, with Between Worlds, its final exhibition at the Prieuré Saint-Saturnin.
November 11 will be the Museum’s final day open to the public. Until then, come and discover the exhibition and GRATALOUP’s stained-glass windows in the very place for which they were created.




THE GRATALOUP CATALOGUE RAISONNÉ
The catalogue raisonné is progressively bringing together GRATALOUP’s works in an online documentary database: catalogue entries, images, inventory numbers, techniques, dimensions, exhibitions and bibliographical references.

THE GRATALOUP SPACE IN NANTUA
In Nantua, GRATALOUP’s birthplace, a space is dedicated to the artist and his connection with the Haut-Bugey region.
Open since December 2025, the GRATALOUP Space invites visitors to discover his artistic world in the town where he was born.
