Presented in 2009 at the Espace Moretti in Paris La Défense, this exhibition marks GRATALOUP’s return to a location deeply connected to his artistic journey. Situated just steps away from the monumental 800-square-meter Galilée mosaic, commissioned by the Public Development Authority of La Défense (EPAD) in 1989, Mysteries... creates a dialogue between the artist’s studio practice and his enduring presence in the public realm.

Following major exhibitions in Germany and Luxembourg, GRATALOUP unveils a series of recent works that continue his exploration of the relationships between matter, humanity, and the cosmos. Through compositions combining painting, metal, sand, and light, the artist investigates the invisible territories of the human psyche and the fundamental forces that shape our perception of the world.

Neither figurative nor abstract, GRATALOUP’s work belongs to a profoundly symbolic approach. Earth, water, air, and fire become the protagonists of a visual language in which science, memory, and the sacred converge. Filled with signs, constellations, and transformations, these works invite viewers to move beyond the certainties of the visible world and rediscover a poetic philosophy capable of illuminating the enduring mysteries of human existence.
