That year, GRATALOUP produced a series of erotic watercolours, a theme he had already worked on during the performance of the series "Tantra Asana" in 1975 and "Erotic Paradise" in 1987.

By his literary friends – including Michel Tournier, who wrote the preface to a monograph published in 1998 – the watercolours are illustrated with more or less long handwritten texts.

With Jacqueline Milan, then owner of the Closerie des Lilas and whom the artist knows well for lunch very often, an exhibition is organized on the theme: «Writers sign the color».
