2013 - 2015 CACTI
For many years, Grataloup has stopped traveling the world to let his mind do it for him. Immersed in books, magazines, his iPad… everything inspires him.
It is by leafing through a work on deserts that Grataloup will undertake the series of Cacti, sublimated by the red or silver colors of the skies where, sometimes, a nymph comes from elsewhere to look at them.
"In plants, cacti have a formidable expressive force. In fact, they seem to be preparing for battle all their lives. Their greatest sweetness is when the flower blooms. They let us look at it from afar. They can live in deserts or on stones. That’s why I put them on an arid mountain, for this rare combination of mineral and vegetable."
