Every Monday for the past few years, GRATALOUP receives a visit from a dancer. Teacher of dance but also of Pilate, she makes him work to support a back that makes him suffer.

Undoubtedly her gracious movements, her suppleness and lightness, her own way of moving, are they at the origin of this series of ten small canvases: ten little dancers perched on the points… of the mountains…

"There is an indisputable coherence between the three disciplines: painting-sculpture-dance. I had the chance, in the 1960s, at the Beaux-Arts de Paris, to have had as a model the one who had posed for «The Kiss» by Rodin. There was a crowd that day at the workshop! The noble old man took various poses as an inspired dancer. He also posed for sculptors and painters. Since then, I have remained sensitive to dance and have given my characters postures close to the movements of a choreographer."
