1977 - EUCALYPTUS & FOLDINGS FILLINGS
On a trip to Corsica, to his cousin Francine Grataloup, the artist finds inspiration in the gardens of his house: covering plants on the massifs of the garden. Corsica will always be a great source of creativity for him.
For the artist, folding is the secret. Unfolding is discovery. At the same time, it is also a Japanese-style compositional organization concept.
It’s a pattern that was in my cousin’s garden in Corsica. These are plants that
cover massive areas that are multiply rapidly. On a flat sheet, a drawing
appears. But this drawing is in his first vision which is always incomplete. For him give mystery, the folds have come to impose themselves: folds
horizontal and vertical, bias folds. With each animation, the drawing gives its reality and/or what is hidden.
