Taking up the theme of the Montagne d'Ardèche, GRATALOUP will try a new expressive pictorial way consisting in tearing or tearing strips of rubbing before the phase of marouflage on canvas.

Thus, in this series of the Ardèche Mountains, appear tears or grubbing up on the cloths, suggesting the drawing in different aspects, more or less present.

"The rubbing and the marouflages of paper on the canvas allowed me to consider a new formula of the pictorial act. By the tears and grubbing up, the subject becomes secondary and independent polychromy, subject to the different attitudes of the painter."
