It is the Jardin des Plantes in its golden light that will give birth to this new series, impressive by the size of the canvases and the purity of the graphic representation.

GRATALOUP will continue its search for “voids”, already started in 2011 in the series Oiseaux et Vides. He will also continue this pictorial expression in 2013.

Two years will be necessary for the creation of the great canvases of this series.

"It is a diptych: two canvases, two ideas in one. Vision of the Garden of Plants in its chromatic complementarity. As in the Middle Ages and even before, the sky is golden to signify the mystery. Above, in an empty space, a golden bird moves and wants to climb higher than the quantum space that surrounds it. This invisible but real world, for the physicists who experience it and for our understanding, is a will that the painter must suggest."
