On May 25, 1994, Milena gave birth to Constant. GRATALOUP then made a series of paintings to celebrate the birth of her son.

It takes up the theme of the sea, combining the idea of the mother/sea. On the various canvases in this series, the fetus is surrounded by a golden circle representing the egg, the matrix, thus signifying the mystery of creation.

He painted a large number of works around the birth of Constant, including the very secret watercolor of the Cradle.
